ABC at Farnborough Airshow
Photonics opportunities
Business takes off
Once every two years the Farnborough Airshow builds the world’s largest temporary structure – this year creating 90,000 square metres of exhibition space. ABC directors Peach and Wolf were there to support the work of the Photonics KTN which was exhibiting at the show. Despite the turbulence elsewhere in the economy, the aerospace industry is thriving, with plane makers Boeing and Airbus touting record-breaking backlogs in their order books.
Steve Welch of ABC's client the Photonics KTN sees the opportunity for disruptive technologies to succeed: “The aviation industry is very active and far from being a closed shop to photonics systems providers – especially for companies that can bring innovative solutions to the status quo. Applications in photonics span the whole supply-chain process from test and measurement to manufacturing and communications.”
