TRANSMODE EDU MEETS MEF STANDARDS

TRANSMODE EDU MEETS MEF 9 AND 14 STANDARDS FOR ETHERNET SERVICES

STOCKHOLM, Sweden – 23 July, 2008 – Transmode, a leading provider of optical networking solutions, today announced that its Ethernet Demarcation Unit (EDU) has achieved both Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) 9 and MEF 14 certification. The test processes were performed by Iometrix, Inc., a leading independent testing lab, on behalf of the MEF.

The MEF 9 and MEF 14 certification validates the User Network Interface (UNI) function of the 6 port Edge EDU from Transmode. The testing certified that the EDU’s UNI delivered Ethernet Private Line (EPL) and Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL) services compliant with the MEF 9 and MEF 14 technical specifications.

Fiberail, a joint venture between Telekom Malaysia (TM) - and Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB), operates an extensive fiber-optic network throughout the country. The newly enhanced network will deliver “triple-play” voice, video and data services and other total business solutions.
